Hilary Woods: Principal 2017-
Hilary Woods is the first woman to be Principal of Belfast Royal Academy. She was educated at Wallace High School, Lisburn, and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Education at Stranmillis College and a 1st class Honours Degree in Computer Science at the University of Ulster.
She began her teaching career in 1987 at Ashfield Girls’ School and returned to Wallace High School in 1990 to teach mathematics & computer science. In 2001 she was recruited to Victoria College where she was Head of Careers and Deputy Head. In 2014, she was selected as Principal of Antrim Grammar School and ran the school with distinction until September 2017 when she became Principal of Belfast Royal Academy.
